This month
we are focusing on Winter time fishing. As you can see, PROVOK EM
Lures are designed to catch just about anything including freshwater
Trout.
The first Saturday in April is the opening of Trout
season in Delaware & the creek banks will be elbow to elbow to
catch one of over 30,000 trout stocked in our streams. Why wait for
the crowds when some of the best Trout fishing is right now! Yes,
there are still Trout in our creeks. We can't catch every stocked
fish every year.
With very little pressure, fishing
these creeks in Winter may pay off. I prefer to fish White
Clay Creek located just outside Newark, Delaware. While others are
hunting, they could be missing out on the best Trout fishing of the
year. Quiet, no crowds & bigger fish... you can't beat it, if
you know how to Provoke a Bite. Just remember the season is closed for
two weeks in March, so they can start stocking. Try our newest
lures at:
3 1/2 lb. Brown Trout caught with a PROVOK EM 1/64oz. Bleeding Glow Dart
It took a couple of color styles & depth changes before
the fish were isolated. On this day, it was overcast with a slight
NW breeze & high pressure. The Crappie were schooled about 3'
down & the Yellow Perch were below them.
Casting is one
of the keys if you are fishing from the bank. The longer the better.
Not one fish was caught within 100' of the shore. Fishing the drop-off
on the sides of submerged points would put your lure right in the
middle of schooled fish. Work it slow with a short 'stop & go'
technique & you will be able to PROVOKE a Bite.
