Dougherty caught over a dozen Yellow Perch up to 17 inches...
"Yellow Ned" Ed Provokes Winter Bite!
It
may be February, but Ed Dougherty has created a name for himself...
"Yellow Ned Ed" as he slammed the Yellow Perch this week at Beck's
Pond in Bear, Delaware. Dougherty caught over a dozen Yellow Perch
up to 17 inches plus some Slab-size Crappie! When interviewed, Dougherty
was still fishing & we were able to watch his skilled technique
as he explained his modifications for Winter fishing.
"Catching
is not just luck. There is alot of planning & strategy involved
to create a pattern. Sometimes it could take up to an hour to find
the fish & then you have to provoke them to bite" said Dougherty.

Ever heard of Nonesuch
Creek? If you have, it's not a myth, but a small tributary off of
the Christiana River in New Castle County, Delaware. A local secret
easily accessed from Pennslyvannia, New Jersey & Maryland just
off North I-95 on the rt. 141 ramp known as Basin Rd.
Small
& easily missed, it holds fish all year long. Since it is tidal
water, no license is needed to fish it... not even for out-of-state
anglers. Well Known for fantastic Crappie fishing as well as Perch,
Pickerel, Bass & Bluegill.
It is a very narrow creek that should
be fished with light gear & finnesse-style baits. Fish the mouth
of the creek at low tide for the best bite. Use PROVOK EM Bleeding
Glow Darts or Bleeding Tubes in 1/64,1/32 & 1/16oz..
Where in Delaware is Nonesuch?
